Conference

|
The First European Across Grids Conference will take place in Santiago de Compostela, Spain, on the
13 th and 14 th of February, 2003. This conference is organized by the Crossgrid
Project Consortium, USC, UDC and CESGA. It will follow the yearly
CrossGrid Project Internal Workshop, an event which will be held from the 10 th through
the 12 th of February, 2003.
The objective of the Across Grids Conference is to bring together
and support a collaboration of all people participating in European
and other Projects, researchers, developers, practitioners and potential
users of grid technologies.
This international meeting will cover
- overview of main European grid projects,
- presentation of hot research problems in grid,
- examples of grid applications,
- grid infrastructure, middleware, quality of service and other tools,
- other grid related topics
We encourage all colleagues working in this field to present their
grid technology related research at this conference.

Call for Abstracts
|
|
We are pleased to announce that the Deadline for Abstract Submission has
been moved to Sunday, December the 15th.
A presentation will be accepted on the basis of an abstract in PDF or
PS format which should
- contain the title, authors and their affiliations,
- up to 1500 words including results and up to two figures,
- abstracts should be sent to acrossgrid@cesga.es before December 15, 2002 at 15:00 hours CET.
Submitted abstracts will undergo a peer review process. Positively reviewed abstracts will be invited to send the full paper version, which should not
exceed ten single-spaced typed pages, formatted using the LNCS guidelines
(http://www.springer.de/comp/lncs/authors.html). Papers will be selected either for oral presentation or for poster sessions.
It's planned to publish a post-proceedings in the Springer Lecture Notes in Computer Science.

The First European Across Grids Conference will provide a Forum for:
- the presentation of up to 32 different peer reviewed research papers,
- key note addresses from researchers from leading institutions in grid technology development,
- poster sessions,
- a Globus Toolkit 3 tutorial
- a user forum that intends to stir up debate about the social implications
of the application of grid technologies in various fields such as (medical
research and intervention, corporate life and business or public administration)

Transport from airport
The airport is 12 Km away from Santiago Center. The bus service only connects the airport with
the BUS STATION, which is far from hotels and the city center. We recommend you that you take
a taxi from airport to hotel. The fee is close to 14.00 €
